Kayaking... (Incidently My google spell check tells me its not a word, but it also tells me google is not a word, and google itself tells my kayaking is, go figure) what can I say about it.

Its wet, I will get cold, and I'm about to go on it for 4 days. That's right people I am abandoning civilisation for 4 whole days.

I see a few of you rolling your eyes, but this is not just normal abandoning reality, everything that I need for these 4 days is going to be stuffed into a kayak a tiny amount of space, which I alone will want to take 4 days worth of food in, as well as other things.

When you have managed to find four days worth of food, that is of a reasonable standard, as well as being easy to cook and store (particularly on the fourth day, where anything even semi-perishable will have perished). You have to get equipment.

Bearing in mind that I have about 1m3 to fit this all in I need:
-A tent
-A sleeping bag
-Dry clothes
-Dry underwear (It is really gross having to put on wet/cold undergarments trust me its been something I've forgotten in the past)
-Food (as mentioned above)
-A first aid kit (Because I can guarantee some one will get hurt)
-A torch (The person who inevitably forgets it will require the first aid kit)
-Water

The list continues but it gets boring and I am already running out of room to pack things in.

The next thing about kayaking is everything. And I mean absolutely EVERYTHING must be water proof. This is because when you fall in, and you will fall in don't worry about that, your kayak will fill with water, and you will hate life. More importantly there will be a leak in your gear and it will get wet. Its inevitable, in my experience kayaking it is usually my sleeping, which leads to much hilarity when I'm wet and cold in my own tent.

By the way reading through this has any one else realised kayak is a palindrome? Well, you do now.

I will endeavour to keep a journal of the next four days for my deviant art readers, I hope you guys appreciate me. Wish me luck, cause I'll need it. Also, if you guys didn't figure it out, this is white water kayaking so I will be battered by branches and rocks as well. YAY!!!
